Shopkick Review: Get Paid for Shopping

Hi everyone. I recently downloaded an application called Shopkick, and I just want share my experience with it. So to start things off, I love applications that let me make some extra money (I mean who doesn’t). However, I just feel that some applications are really not worth my time. Because of that, I’m going to try out this app for you guys, and then let you know what I think.

About the app:

In this app, one has to earn “kicks” in order to exchange them later on for gift cards. Kicks are primarily earned by going to local stores. Some stores will give you kicks if you buy something there. Other stores will give you kicks for just walking in or for scanning something.

For one, this application is easy to use. If you head over to a mall, there is likely some stores nearby that you can walk into for kicks. The application gives you a list of nearby stores and the kicks you can get from going to them. Getting kicks is pretty simple.

You need a lot of kicks to get a gift card that’s actually worth something. This requires some time and effort.
Definitely not going to make a lot of money off this app.

Final verdict:

This app is pretty fun. It’s like using an app and going on a scavenger hunt. However, if you’re expecting to actually make decent pocket money, this is probably not the app for you. I also wouldn’t go out of my way to get kicks. If you just happen to go to a store listed on the app, then great. Otherwise, it’s not worth the time and effort. Overall, it’s not too bad of an app. It’s been about a month, and I’m almost reaching $5 for a cup of coffee at Starbucks. Definitely not a whole lot of cash, but it’s not too bad for simply running errands that I was already going to do in the first place.
